Preserve assets while maintaining Medicaid eligibility

Most Americans will require long-term care in their later years. The cost of nursing home care or assisted living for any length of time, however, is far beyond the means of a typical family, and will quickly drain the resources of a moderately large estate. As part of a comprehensive estate plan, it is, therefore, often necessary to consider a possible future need for Medicaid or other public benefit programs.
